Celebrate Jāņi

Svinēsim Jāņus Šeltonā! Aicinām pēcpusdienā uz vainagu pīšanu, rotaļu un pāru deju pamācībam, vai piedalīties futņa vai volejbola spēlēs!

Vakarā baudīsim gardas vakariņas, un lustīgu dziemu un deju pilnu vakara programmu ap ugunskuru. Vēlāk sekos “glow in the dark” DJ ballīte!

Let’s celebrate Jāņi in Shelton! Join us for an afternoon of activites: learn to make flower crowns and traditional Latvian games and partner dances or join in on a soccer or volleyball game!

In the evening, enjoy a hearty Latvian dinner, followed by a rousing evening program of song and dance around the bonfire and a late night glow in the dark dance party!

11:00am-5:00pm – Flower crown making (by dining hall)

12:30pm – Flower crown making demonstration (by dining hall)

1:00pm – Soccer (sports field)

2:30pm – Demonstration of traditional Latvian games and dances (basketball court)

3:00pm – Flower crown making demonstration (by dining hall)

3:30pm – Volleyball (by dorms)

6:00pm – Dinner (dining hall) – sauerkraut, brats, salads, and more

7:30pm – “Jāņi” program (bonfire by the basketball court) – group songs and partner dances, celebration of all persons named “Jānis”, and a performance by folk dance group Trejdeksnītis

9:00pm-morning – Dancing under the stars (bonfire by the basketball court) – DJ, glowsticks and party lights, karaoke, songs in both Latvian and English

EVENT RULES

Clean up after yourself and take all garbage to the dumpster behind the dining hall upon departure. It is expected that all facilities used will be cleaned or tidied up to the condition they were upon arrival, or better.
Attendees must follow all county burn ban regulations. Burn ban information and recreational fire laws and regulations are available on Mason county’s website.
No fireworks.
Dogs must be leashed at all times.
No smoking in any building or structure, and at least 25 feet away from doorways and open windows.

WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK

Holder voluntarily assumes all risks, liability, and danger incidental to the ”Jāņi” (Event) at the West Coast Latvian Education Center June 22-23, 2024 for which this ticket is issued, whether occurring prior to, during or after the Event.  By accepting this ticket and participating in the Event, holder expressly releases the West Coast Latvian Education Center, Inc. (WCLEC), and its officers, agents and volunteers, from any and all claims arising from the Event or occurring on the WCLEC property.

The WCLEC is a not-for-profit Section 501(c)(3) organization. Donors may deduct contributions to this organization as provided in the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) code.
